Report: Jaguar C-X75 supercar has been axed

It was reported earlier this week, that a decision on whether or not to push the Jaguar C-X75 plug-in hybrid supercar into production was at a very ‘critical stage of its development.’ Well, a decision has been made and we’re sad to say the car has been axed.

Check out more news on the Jaguar C-X75.

According to Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar has decided not to produce the car due to the current global economic crisis.

Hallmark said that Jaguar will continue development on five working prototypes and three of those will be sold at auction. One will end up in Jaguar’s museum and the other will be kept by Jaguar for a running demo.

“We feel we could make the car work, but looking at the global austerity measures in place now, it seems the wrong time to launch an £800,000 to £1 million supercar,” said Hallmark. “This is backed up by other products from us that people are screaming out for.”
