BMW is looking forward to a third consecutive annual record next year, when the automaker introduces the 4-Series coupe in mid-2013.

Check out our original post on the BMW 4 Series Coupe Concept.

The new BMW 4-Series Coupe, of which a concept version will debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show next month, replaces the coupe version of the 3 Series. According to BMW’s head of sales and marketing Ian Robertson, the 3-Series Coupe has accounted for about 10 percent of total 3 Series sales last year. The 4 series will have “competitive” pricing in its segment, Robertson said.

The BMW 4-Series Coupe will be followed by the 4-Series Convertible in autumn 2013, BMW said.

We still don’t know how we feel about all this rebadging going on at the Bavarian automaker.
