Earlier this week, FoMoCo unveiled a new brand strategy for its luxury brand by renaming it Lincoln Motor Company and launching an aggressive ad campaign to build buzz around the name’s renaissance.
One of the many things in the works are rear-wheel-dive models to help Lincoln compete better with its rivals.
“Rear-wheel-drive is definitely in the works,” one of Ford’s top executives confirmed with TheDetroitBureau.com.
Instead of partnering up with other brand’s for a rear-wheel-drive architecture Lincoln will go at it alone and may share the next-generation Ford Mustang platform. Lincoln has also confirmed that most or all of its cars will be available with an all-wheel-drive option.
