2012 LA: 2014 Nissan GT-R pumps 545-hp out of its 3.8L V6

The 2014 Nissan GT-R is hanging out at Nissan’s 2012 LA Auto Show in a very subtle way – it’s almost like the GT-R so sick and tired of proving itself over and over again as a sports car that is considered many to be the perfect supercar.

Well, for the 2014 model year, the perfection continues with the car’s 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6 now making even more power. Thanks to improved intake efficiency, reduced airflow resistance, improved exhaust emissions efficiency, output is increased by 15-hp to 545 hp (along with a 15 lb-ft increase in torque to 463 lb-ft). Not that you car but fuel-economy is again rated at 16/23 mpg (city/highway).

“The performance enhancements for 2014 signal Nissan’s intent to keep the GT-R on the leading edge of international sports car design, technology and performance year after year after year,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc.

The 2014 Nissan GT-R is available in two models: GT-R Premium the Nissan Navigation System, custom-designed 11-speaker Bose audio system, premium near-black finish wheels and heated front seats; the GT-R Black Edition gets special lightweight metallic black aluminum-alloy forged RAYS wheels, unique red and black interior, Recaro leather-appointed seats, dark headliner and dry carbon fiber rear spoiler.

Just two options are available with your purchase: a Cold Weather Package, which includes Dunlop all-season tires and unique coolant/water ratio; and the Premium Interior Package.
