2012 LA: Ford Fiesta ST is one quick compact hatchback
Hot compact hatchbacks is a great niche for any automaker to compete in. Lately FoMoCo has been jumping in on the action. First the Dearborn automaker decided to take the segment by storm with the 252-hp Focus ST, which is powered by the 2.0 liter EcoBoost.

Today at the 2012 LA Auto Show, Ford is further showing the capabilities of the EcoBoost engines along with its seriousness about competing in the high-performance hatchback segment. The new 2014 Ford Fiesta ST has landed in the United States with a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost making 197-hp and 214 lb-ft of torque. Estimated fuel-economy is expected to come in around 34 mpg.
Prices will be announced closer to its launch date.
