Former General Motors global marketing boss Joel Ewanick has been hanging out ever since GM dropped him back in July, but the marketing guru has now found a new position. Plug-in hybrid automaker Fisker Karma has just announced that Ewanick will be the interim chief of global sales and marketing.

Ewanick will be replacing Richard Beattie, 58, who announced his retirement today, said Fisker spokesman Roger Ormisher said.
“We would like to thank Richard for his valuable contribution in helping to grow the Fisker brand and sales in global markets over the past 12 months, and wish him well in his retirement,” Fisker CEO Tony Posawatz said in a statement issued to Automotive News.
Ewanick has apparently been working with Fisker as a consultant for the last six weeks and will now fill the Beattie’s role until the company finds a replacement.
