It seems like Audi is working on taking on BMW’s i brand with a four-seat city car that will be capable of averaging 282 mpg. According to AutoCar, the car will be based on the current Audi A1 platform and will be powered by a 1.0 liter engine.
Wolfgang Durheimer, Audi’s new head of technical development told the publication that the car will be based on the platform of the A1 and will be an ‘affordable’ four-seater that offers ‘all the creature comforts of a normal car, including climate control.’
Details are still scarce but it is reported that the car will use some sort of electrical-assistance like the Chevrolet Volt. Everything from the platform, to the interior, to the suspension system is expected to be ‘radically’ light.
