According to new reports, Ford is now working on a production version of a 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine that makes 150-hp. The engine is currently used in the company’s Formula Ford prototype in which it produces close to 200-hp.

Speaking to AutoExpress, EcoBoost chief engineer, Andrew Fraser said that his team is currently evaluating the 1.0 liter EcoBoost to extract more power out of the engine.

“I’ve got my team working on an engine to see just how far we can push the unit in production trim.,” he said. Fraser added that the engine “would have to complete a full development process.”
