Report: Toyota looking into changing next-generation Prius design
Toyota, which is close to record global sales for the Prius hybrid, is looking into the design of the next-generation model and (thankfully) is studying whether or not to keep the car’s iconic wedge-shape theme.

“There’s an undercurrent among most people that they’re ready for a new Prius look,” said Chris Hostetter, Toyota’s U.S. group vice president for strategic planning. “Maybe our architecture has been a little bit similar for the last two generations.”
The redesigned Prius will hit roads sometime in 2014 and Toyota is looking to broaden the appeal of the gasoline-electric hybrid to a wider range of buyers.
