Report: Aston Martin planning a V12 powered Cygnet

Just when you thought that the Aston Martin Cygnet couldn’t get any more pointless crazier, reports suggest that the company is planning to throw in its V12 engine if there is enough customer demand. Wherever this demand is, I honestly have no idea what you guys are thinking.

Insiders say that the company is testing the feasibility of putting its 6.0 liter V12 engine into the Toyota iQ-based Cygnet. Of course there will be other upgrades made to the subcompact car to help with the weight, balance and handling.

The V12 will most likely be detuned from its 510-hp output. The Aston Martin Cygnet currently produced 97-hp from a 1.3 liter gasoline engine by Toyota.
