Along with the new Audi A3, the German automaker will be debuting the new Audi S3 next week at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

“Scheduled to launch in early 2013 (for Europe), the lightweight premium compact model combines its dynamic performance with groundbreaking efficiency and comes packed with all the high-tech Audi has to offer in every field of technology,” Audi said in a statement.

Power for the 2014 Audi S3 comes from a 2.0 liter TFSI unit making 300-hp and 280 lb-ft of torque between 1,800 and 5,500 rpm. Mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed S-tronic, the Audi S3 runs from 0 to 62 mph in 5.1 seconds (5.4 with manual), with a top speed of 155 mph.

Prices for the German market start at €38,900 ($50,699 USD).
