Video: Kid builds drivable Lego go-kart

LEGO Go Kart

While most kids, myself included, spent countless hours with their big bucket of Legos creating forts, car washes or mini mansions, one kid has outdone all of our wildest colored-block imaginations and created an actual working go-cart.

This kid clearly had some assistance from his father, Eric Steenstra, the Dutchman that posted the creation on his tumblr page, and although the go-cart won’t rival anything at Pole Position, it still pretty impressive.

Dubbed “Le-GoKart”, the machine is powered by 48 Lego Mindstorms NXT motors and 16 NXT battery packs. It’s strong enough to hold a 222-lb adult male and has working headlights and taillights, and features nothing but Lego parts.

Check out the video after the jump for a bit of nostalgia and a hint of jealousy.
