Report: Volvo and Polestar unveil limited edition C30 Polestar, 250 coming to US

Things have been heating up between Polestar and Volvo as the two have reportedly unveiled a new C30 Polestar Limited Edition, which will be seen on our shores.

Polestar as of recent has rolled out an influx of Volvo factory-backed tuning kits and tuner cars, one of which was that insane 186mph 508hp Volvo S60. Polestar also at one point made a C30 Polestar Concept with 405hp, all-wheel drive, massive Brembo clamps, racing seats with four-point harnesses, and an advanced aerodynamics package.

The C30 Polestar that we speak of right now, isn’t exactly that pocket rocket, but it does come with a variety of very rare upgrades.

The 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar Limited Edition starts life off as a C30 R-Design, which is a neat little car as-is. But then, it receives the same “Rebel Blue” paint job as Polestar’s other concepts. On the inside, the C30 gets standard R-Design pedals, a sport steering wheel, instrument cluster, and aluminum trim all around. Also equipped are matte-black 17-inch wheels. But the changes also extended deeper into the mechanicals.

The C30 Polestar Limited Edition gets Volvo’s typical 2.5L straight-five, which produces 227hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. But thanks to a nice little engine software upgrade, the C30 Polestar produces 250hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Monotube dampers, 30% stiffer springs, and a quicker steering rack are also included to help hone handling. Channeling that power is a lovely six-speed manual rower.

Only 250 examples will be seeing our shores and will only command a rather modest $32,445. So you better scoop yours up soon, because with the way the C30 is already equipped, the C30 Polestar Limited Edition actually makes to be pretty good value.
