There is no doubt that Hyundai vehicles are selling better than ever – so much so that Hyundai has to increase output. According to John Krafcik, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, vehicle production for the United States from September through the end of 2012 will be increased 19 percent over the same period last year.
The extra boost will come from a third shift that began production on Sept. 4 at Hyundai’s Alabama plant. The increased output will send an extra 20,000 units of the Sonata and Elantra to U.S. dealers
The Kia plant in Georgia will produce about 36,600 units of the 2013 Santa Fe Sport between August and year.
The extra units should give desperate dealers some more cars since they have been selling from low supplies.
