Cadillac ATS wins the 2012 Esquire Car of the Year

The new 2013 Cadillac ATS has won the 2012 Esquire Car of the Year, editors of the men’s fashion and culture magazine.

“The new ATS is Cadillac’s spirited challenger, built to take on the world,” says Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac Marketing. “Having its design and performance validated in this fashion is a meaningful step in our journey.”

The new Caddy ATS was chosen by the magazine from a range of the finest luxury cars.

“It’s been heartening to watch the American auto industry re-assert itself over the last couple of years,” says David Granger, editor-in-chief of Esquire. “The ATS is an exciting new chapter in that process—a balls to the wall effort at reinvention. It’s fantastic.”

Refresher: The 2013 Cadillac ATS sedan is available with a choice of three engine units. The based model carries a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo engine making 270-hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A 2.5 liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder is also available, making 200-hp and 188 lb-ft of torque. The top-of-the-line Cadillac ATS is powered by a 3.6 liter V6 making 318-hp and 267 lb-ft of torque.
