Here is a pretty interesting story for you guys on a slow Monday. While credit-card fraud suspect Rashad Lewis was behind bars, an NYPD officer jumped in his Mercedes-Benz CL-Class and took it for a wild ride around Manhattan.
25-year-old Lewis claims that whoever took his car out of the police impound lot in Queens racked up a $50 ticket for flying through a red light and left it in pretty bad condition.
“My back window was broken, my driver’s-side door was keyed, and my bumper was scratched up,” Lewis said. “They were driving my car with the windows down and having a ball joy riding my vehicle.”
The New York Post obtained NYPD records that his Mercedes-Benz in ‘good’ condition at 1:23 a.m. on Aug. 4. 13-hours later a camera snapped a picture of the car running the red light while Lewis was in custody.
The NYPD had no comment.
