Mini has announced that its Countryman will make its high-performance debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show lair this month. The Mini John Cooper Works Countryman is fitted with the most powerful powertrain in the Mini range, equipped with ALL4 all-wheel-drive- and has been upgraded with a sportier suspicion and better handling.
Obviously based on the regular Countryman the Mini John Cooper Works Countryman gets some extra muscle to the front and rear apron, a bespoke side skirt, 18-inch light-alloy wheels and sportier interior for being so cool. Also, this time you have the option of choosing four or five seats with up to 41 cubic feet of luggage space.
Power for the Mini John Cooper Works Countryman comes from a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder turbo making 218-hp with a maximum torque of 207 lb-ft or 221 lb-ft with over boost. Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic with Steptronic, 0 to 62 mph comes in just 7 seconds.
Production of the Mini John Cooper Works Countryman will take place alongside the regular model at BMW Group’s partner firm Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik in Graz, Austria.
