2013 Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S receive IIHS’ Top Safety Pick Award

The 2013 Scion FR-S and the Subaru BRZ have both earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick award today.

Both models received the top rating of good performance in the moderate overlap frontal, side, rollover and rear impact evaluations.

We’re pretty sure Scion and Subaru are excited about this achievement.

  • The 2013 Subaru BRZ is powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder boxer engine making 200-hp at 7,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 151 lb-ft at 6,600 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. Prices start at $25,495.
  • The 2013 Scion FR-S is powered by a 2.0 liter naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder horizontally opposed engine with Toyota’s D-4S injection system.
