Ford today took the wraps off of the new 2013 Fiesta subcompact in Amsterdam at the company’s ‘Go Further’ product event host by none other than CEO Alan Mulally and 2,500 dealers.
With a slight new redesign, the 2013 Ford Fiesta also features a bunch of new upgrades including a voice-activated in-car connectivity system Ford SYNC, Active City Stop, Ford MyKey and a new 1.0-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine that is expected to deliver best-in-class fuel economy.
“Fiesta has been one of the world’s best-loved small cars across five decades, and the sporty appeal of the last generation Fiesta inspired real passion among global compact car customers, contributing to its status as the world’s most successful small car,” said Martin Smith, Ford of Europe executive design director. “We had to keep that vital part of Fiesta’s make-up – but we also wanted to give it a more sophisticated look.”
Since this is the Euro version of the new Fiesta, we’re not sure the U.S.-spec will look entirely the same. We’ll find out soon enough – stay tuned.
