Report: Next-generation Nissan GT-R coming 2018

Despite what latest reports have been saying about the next Nissan GT-R (basically saying it won’t happen), Edmunds has confirmed with Nissan that the next-generation Godzilla is in the works and that an all-new version will arrive sometime in 2018… that’s if the world is still here.

The second-generation Nissan GT-R was supposed to hit roads in 2015, however there has been a delay since chief engineer on the car, Kazutoshi Mizuno, has left the company.

Nissan is expected to make some significant changes to the next-generation GT-R and power plant. Rumors suggest changes to the bumper and lights will, however main body panels will be left the same.

Insiders also say that the GT-R team is watching the Acura NSX development very closely after Honda said that its hybrid-powered supercar will lap the Nurburgring faster than the GT-R.
