Report: 2013 Hyundai Veloster and Veloster Turbo get $1200 summer tire package

Hyundai is apparently now offering a new summer tire option for their Veloster hatchback, reports CARandDRIVER. The new 2013 Veloster and Veloster Turbo can now be had with four fancy Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, which would undoubtedly help the Veloster dance a little more responsively.

Previously, the Velosters in both trim were only available in mediocre all-season tires, which in performance sacrifice a bit in road feel and responsiveness. The downside to summer tires unfortunately is the lesser ability to tackle harsher weather conditions. You could spend a large amount of money for some good all-season performance tires, but they often tend to be rather expensive for their intricate designs.

The only issue however with the new summer tire option on the Veloster is that buyers will have to dolly up the extra dough for the 18-inch wheels. Total extra comes to about $1,200 above the Veloster and Veloster Turbo’s base prices.
