The new city car comes in colors like Lemonade, Denim Blue, Jalapeno, Techno Pink and Salsa Red, which helped gain the sponsorship between Chevrolet and The Color Run as the official pace car and vehicle of the 5K urban race event. The Color Run covers its racers in tons of colors for every kilometer they reach.
“The Spark and The Color Run are perfect running mates because both appeal to style-conscious, high-energy urbanites who don’t live life in neutral,” said Cristi Landy, marketing director, Chevrolet Spark. “We hope Color Runners will like what they see when they meet the Spark.”
A custom Spark will be pacing the race, covered in various colors inside and out to resemble what a runner would look like after finished out a race.
Each city the run hits will also mark a new charity involvement, with this weekend’s benefiting Tuesday’s Children, to help 9/11 victims, and the Police Unity Tour.
The 2013 Chevrolet Spark is a sporty three-door that rides on 15-inch weels and gets power from 1.2-liter four-cylinder motor that boasts the best fuel economy in Chevy’s lineup, apart from the Volt. Starting at $12,995 the mini car packs in MyLink technology, with navigation to soon to come, a 5-year, 100,00 mile powertrain warranty and a ton of safety features.
The Spark, and The Color Run will be hitting Washington, D.C. (Sept. 9); Portland, Ore. (Sept. 29); Miami (Oct. 21); Houston (Nov. 11); Orlando (Dec. 2); and St. Petersburg, Fla. (Dec. 15), this year, with more dates to come for 2013.
