Report: Mercedes-Benz recalling 2012 and 2013 ML SUVs over accesory floormat woes
TheDetroitNews reports that Mercedes-Benz is recalling its all-season accessorized floor mats on model year 2012 and 2013 ML-Class SUVs for fear that they can jam the car’s gas pedal.

Mercedes reportedly said that the mats may not conform correctly to the car floor’s shape. The result is that the floor mat could become dislodged, inhibiting the full retraction of the gas pedal after the driver stops applying pressure. Mercedes-Benz advises all ML-Class owners to remove the accessory floor mats.
No reports of any related accidents or injuries have been reported, according to the Stuttgart-based brand. In a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Mercedes-Benz said roughly 8,675 MLs have been affected in the US.
Mercedes-Benz also said that they will begin notifying owners of the cars soon and dealers will replace the floor mats for free.
