Report: Production Toyota FCV-R fuel-cell sedan coming in 2015

Toyota’s U.S. sales chief Jim Lentz has confirmed that the company’s new fuel-cell vehicle, previewed by the FCV-R Concept at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, will debut in 2015.

While he declined to give any specifics, the concept featured a 70 MPa hydrogen fuel tank that enabled the vehicle to travel approximately 435 miles between fill ups.

Separately, Lentz said that Toyota will offer ‘a wider variety of hybrid vehicles and plug-in hybrids and a choice of pure electric vehicles.’
