On June 22, Tesla Motors delivered the first Model S electric sedan to a lucky customer.

The company is now providing an update – a total of 50 units have been produced with production ramping up from three cars per week to five cars per week to now ten cars per week.

“We have now produced 50 cars that received unanimous signoff from Elon and the entire quality team,” George Blankenship, Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Ownership Experience, wrote on the company’s blog. “The ramp up is continuing and we are getting a lot of invaluable information from having all these cars on the road. We have already logged more than 39,000 miles on the first 50 cars.”

Tesla said that it has delivered a total of 29 units so far to customers.
