Nissan’s sales jump 12% in July thanks to the new Altima
Nissan’s three leading sedans helped push the brand’s U.S. sales to a 12 recent gain in July 2012 over the same period during 2011. Nissan said that it enjoyed a nice sales boost due to the new redesigned 2013 Altima. A strong ad campaign drove sales of the new Altima, and also bumped some bargain-hunting for the outgoing Altima, said Al Castignetti, Nissan Division general manager.
Castignetti said that the 2013 Nissan Altima accounted for about 35 percent of the model’s sales for the month.
Nissan dealers also saw a nice shakeup in the sales of the Rogue, Frontier and Titan.
Refresher: The 2013 Nissan Altima is available with a 2.5-liter QR25 4-cylinder engine producing 182-hp and a peak torque of 180 lb-ft. Buyers can also opt for the 3.5-liter V6 VQ35DE, which keeps its 270-hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Prices start at $21,500.
