Reuters reports that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have just recently opened an investigation into Infiniti’s latest model, the JX full-size crossover. The investigation entails the emergency brake, which may not apply properly.
No recall has been issued yet, though the JX still has the potential of receiving one, depending on the conclusion of the investigation. Around 8,000 2013 Infiniti JX35s maybe affected and so far two consumers have complained.
The complaint was “that the intelligent brake assist system inappropriately activated emergency braking autonomously bringing the vehicle to an immediate and complete stop,” said the NHTSA’s filing.
Stay tuned for more details as the investigation unfolds.
