Porsche 918 Spyder gets Martini livery, aiming for less than 7:22 around Nurburgring

Porsche today dropped some more photos of its 918 Spyder Prototype (featuring Martini Racing livery), which it said is entering the net phase of driving trials and development.

We recently saw a video of the 918 Spyder prototype circling the Nurburgring and Porsche confirmed today that it is at the Nordschleife race circuit to bring in a strong lap time of less than 7 minutes and 22 seconds for the plug-in hybrid supercar.

“The latest test vehicle is now turning laps in the legendary Martini Racing look of many historic Porsche race cars, particularly from the 1970s,” Porsche said in a statement. “More than nearly any other race car design, the Martini Racing look quickly attained cult status in those times and is still in vogue today. Martini was already the official partner of the Porsche factory team between 1973 and 1978.”

Porsche has confirmed that the 918 Spyder will produce 770-hp with a 0 to 62 mph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of more than 200 mph. Fuel-economy should come in around 3 liters/100km or 78.4 mpg US.
