Report: Cadillac planning large crossover to compete with Mercedes ML, BMW X5

Right now, if you walked into a Cadillac dealerships and asked to see a large crossover to fit your family of seven, you’ll be pointed to the Escalade – but of course, that’s too big and too expensive. The only other remaining option you would have is the Cadillac SRX – which is obviously no option at all.

New reports suggest that GM is now planning a large crossover for Cadillac that will be built on the upgraded version of the Lambda platform, which underpins the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and the Chevrolet Traverse.

The Lambda Cadillac crossover is scheduled to launch as a 2015 model year. All we want to know is, why did it take so long to make this decision?
