Chevrolet unveils 1LE package for Camaro SS

Chevrolet has just unveiled a new package for the 2013 Camaro, dubbed the “1LE.” This special package is geared to making the standard Camaro SS a bit sportier. Additionally, only SS Camaros with the six-speed manual can be equipped with the 1LE package.

The package includes a modified drivetrain system with unique gearing and an external air-tow liquid transmission cooler, an upgraded suspension and better tires, allowing the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE to pull more than 1g of lateral acceleration.

Other changes include unique black-painted alloys based off of the Camaro ZL1’s 20-inchers, while the Camaro 1LE also receives the ZL1’s wheel bearings, toe links, and shock mounts along with the ZL1’s high-capacity fuel pump. Despite these upgrades, the power output of the Camaro SS’s 6.2L LS3 remains to be 426hp.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but we could expect the Chevrolet Camaro 1LE to cost a little under $40,000.
