Report: Volvo reportedly planning Polestar V40 for Paris

It’s been quite a while since BMW and Audi, makers of the 135i hatch and the S3 have had to pay any attention to Volvo, though that is about to change in the form of a T5-powered all wheel drive 254 bhp V40 hatch. But that isn’t enough, so Polestar (the hot end of Volvo) to offer a 280-300 bhp version of said hatch.

Prices will start at £30,000, certainly less than the limited production £100,000, 508 bhp Polestar (for one or two lucky people in the UK). Both cars are likely to show up at the Paris Auto Show and if there is any hint as to whether or not we will see them on our shores, we will know then.

Refresher: The 2013 Volvo V40 will be available with the company first diesel engine and a turbocharged T5 gasoline engine making 254-hp allowing it to go from 0 to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds. All models feature start-stop and braking energy regeneration, wether or not they have a manual or automatic gearbox.
