Earlier today, Nissan dropped pictures and details of the new 2013 Note, a new global compact car that will go on sale in Japan this fall. The car is a B-segment econobox that has a pretty slick looking exterior.

Nissan also released a separate statement saying that the upcoming “sub-compact Versa hatchback will receive a fresh new look that takes design cues from the new Nissan Note.”

Will it be the same exact model? Not really, but Nissan says that the new 2013 Note hints at the design direction for the next Versa to be sold in the United States. More details about the new Versa hatchback will be available closer to its launch.

“Nissan’s sales dominance in the sub-compact segment was driven by Versa’s triple-digit gain in June,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. “The Versa offers exceptional value, excellent fuel economy and numerous features rarely available in other models in this segment.”

The Nissan Versa is currently outselling all its competitors and has sold 60,919 units so far in 2012.

I was looking for a 2012-2013 Nissan Tilda model, but not for that shown Nissan Note with some bad design.
