Aston Martin officially unveils 2013 V12 Vantage Roadster for 101 lucky UK owners only

Following some news that Aston Martin was finally releasing a sexy V12 Vantage Roadster drop top, the Warwickshire-based brand has officially let the cat out of the bag.

As a refresher, Aston Martin takes their V8 Vantage convertible and swaps out the Jaguar AJ-V8 based V8 for Aston’s own gorgeous-sounding 6.0L V12 good for 510hp and 470 lb-ft f torque. AM says that this puppy will jaunt to 60 in just 4.5 seconds and onto a top run of 190 mph.

Aston also added some changes unique to the V12 Vantage Roadster, all with the help of carbon fiber. Specifically, the V12 Vantage Roadster gets a bespoke redesigned rear decklid and lower front intake, which aid in aerodynamics for high-speed stability.

Of course, because of the heavier, extra set of pistons, rods, et al up front and the additional reinforcement in the chassis needed because no solid roof exists, Aston also upgraded the front and rear suspension, where even the rear suspension received a completely new spring design, just to name a change.

“The V12 Vantage models are, first and foremost, driver’s cars – inviting and fully rewarding the driver’s full involvement,” said Aston Martin’s CEO, Dr. Ulrich Bez, “The addition to our range of this exceptional new Roadster allows the driver and passenger to experience full ‘sensory overload’ thanks to its outstanding performance.”

The 2013 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster will only be sold in the UK for £150,000 in the UK or $232,630 US. Well, darn.
