Only for the track: Honda Mugen CR-Z GT with a twin-turbo V6
Honda has teamed up with Mugen on the latest CR-Z, and with a 120-hp starting point, the end result is an impressive, although unattainable racecar.
The original second generation CR-X of the 1980’s boasted more power then the current CR-Z with its 150-hp pushing along a much lighter body. Now, with the second generation of the CR-Z, Honda has fallen a bit flat with it’s 1.5-liter four banger IMA hybrid-electric. So Team Mugen stepped in to kick power up enough for the model to race in Japan’s SUPER GT Series’ GT300 class. To achieve this, Mugen swapped out the 1.5-liter for a much larger displaced 2.8-liter twin-turbo V6 to start.
While no specs or further details have been released yet, with the Race coming up at the end of this month, more details should become available soon.
