Mazda has officially released details on the updated MX-5 Miata, which is currently hitting Japanese showrooms.
The new design features a more aggressive front end, unique characteristics for both the retractable hard top and soft top variants, a new body color, Dolphin Gray Mica to replace Metropolitan Gray Mica, and a new tan interior color.
Performance enhancements include enhanced acceleration control for manual transmission models, and throttle management system adjustments for better handling, and improved braking control. Weight reduction played a role in this redesign, as well, with a lighter front bumper, internal wiring, active bonnet, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
Lastly, technology improvements include the Active Bonnet, for pedestrian protection in the event of a collision by raising the hood to cut down on the chance of injury.
