General Motors reported Chevy Volt sales of 1,760 units in June, doubling the number it sold in June 2011.

In the first half of 2012, GM sold a total of 8,817 units of the Volt plug-in hybrid, more than triple the 2,745 it sold during the same period in 2011. In fact, during all of 2011, GM sold 7,600 units of the Volt.

Nissan LEAF sales on the other hand saw a 69 percent drop in June to 535 units. So far in 2012, Nissan has sold 3,418 units of the LEAF – down 19 percent during the same period in 2011.
