Just recently, Aston Martin’s Facebook fanpage has hit the one-millionth fan mark. And to celebrate and express their gratitude, Aston Martin has built a unique, one-off version of the DB9 specifically for the fans, by the fans.
Every option possible was chosen for the now called DB9 1M, including the color and the rather unique vinyl patterns festooning the body. To me personally, it looks like the vinyl traces the car’s airflow when in the wind tunnel.
Either way, this publicity stunt is similar to what brands like Nissan have done. For instance, Nissan specifically had its fans on Facebook choose which modifications would be done to make a special tuner version of the 370Z. Porsche too did something as well by creating a special Cayman and 911 for its two and one millionth fan milestones.
