Updated 2013 McLaren MP4-12C to debut at Goodwood with 616-hp

The current McLaren MP4-12C is an outstanding sports car and its about to get a little better. Having unveiled the original MP4-12C and the MP4-12C GT3 race car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2010 and 2011 (respectively), McLaren will now unveil an updated version of the sports car alongside another racing model at this year’s event.

The new updated McLaren MP4-12C gets a range of improvements including an output increase from 592-hp to 616-hp and a new modified 7-speed SSG transmission.

Sitting behind the wheel of the MP4-12C during the Goodwood Hill Climb will be 2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button.

The racing McLaren MP4-12C GT3 race car will feature a Union Jack-inspired livery that focuses around McLaren’s support of the ‘GREAT’ campaign.
