The very first 2013 SRT Viper sold for $300,000 at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Costa Mesa, California over the weekend. The $300,000 final price made the new 2013 Viper the top seller at the Barrett-Jackson event.

Bidding for the new Viper had topped just $250,000 until a trip to the SRT Track Experience and tickets to Petit Le Mans were added – which pushed the price to the $300,000 mark.

Proceeds from the auction will go to Austin Hatcher Foundation to help families and children affected by cancer.

Refresher: Power for the 2013 SRT Viper comes from an all-aluminum, mid-engine 8.4-liter V10 that makes 640 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual transmission with a shorter throw shifter, closer gear ratios and a final drive ratio that has been shortened to 3.55 from 3.07.
