Ferrari 599XX Evo raises $2.3 million for Italy earthquake relief
Last month, Ferrari contacted its wealthy clients and enthusiasts around the world to take part in an auction where the Italian automaker would put some important and rare items, including the 599XX Evo, under the hammer. Proceeds from the auction were being generated to help the families of the victims of the earthquakes that struck Emilia-Romagna.
The Ferrari 599XX Evo obviously sold for the most bringing in a nice $2.3 million. The one-off car was sold to an American client and will be delivered to the lucky man by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa at the next Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
“A pole position result: I knew I could count on the big-heartedness of the Ferraristi but they’ve still managed to surprise me once again,” declared Ferrari Chairman, Luca di Montezemolo. “I would like to thank all the clients, collectors and enthusiasts that did their bit. Their bids have sent out a message of warmth and solidarity to the people in our region affected by this tragedy.”
