2013 Buick Verano Turbo zooms in with 250-hp

Just when you thought Buick’s new impressive Verano couldn’t get any better, General Motors today dropped a turbo version. The 2013 Buick Verano Turbo is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged Ecotec 4-cylinder that makes 250-hp at 5300 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque at 2000 rpm. That allows 0 to 60 mph to come in just 6.2 seconds.

“The 2.0L turbo engine was designed for refinement, higher output capabilities and reduced noise,” said Amy Joss, Ecotec 2.0L assistant chief engineer. “The way it sounds, the power delivery and the refined character are all fitting of a luxury sedan with a fun side.”

Best part about it all? The Verano Turbo comes with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Sales of the new 2013 Buick Verano Turbo will start later this year. Standby for pricing details.

Can we look forward to a Buick Verano GS? Only time will tell.
