Inside Line recently was able to get the new 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Shelby GT500 together to indulge in some traditional muscle car rivalry. As a result, they took the ZL1 and the GT500 dyno testing in a head-to-head competition.
Beginning with the factory power figures, Ford rates the Shelby Mustang GT500 at 662hp and 631 lb-ft of torque from its supercharged 5.8L V8. The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on the other hand is rated at 580hp and 556 lb-ft of torque from the 6.2L V8, also supercharged.
