Report: Japanese Domestic Market gets special edition Mercedes-Benz

The Japanese have been known to receive a variety of unique special edition Mercedes-Benzes, many of which are still in existence today in very good condition. For instance it’s not hard to find rare AMG models with a bucketlist of rare options from the late 1980s and early 1990s pop up in the Japanese Domestic Market in near-museum condition.

And it appears Mercedes-Benz is keeping up with the tradition as it seems they just unveiled a new special edition of the C63 AMG sedan for the Japanese Domestic Market.

Called the Performance Studio Edition, the special C63 AMG receives a unique matt-black paintjob and wheels with red trim. Additionally, the 6.2L V8 was reworked to offer 481hp, 30hp more than our version thanks to pistons, connecting rods, and the crankshaft from the SLS AMG’s version of the 6.2L V8.

Other additions include a standard limited-slip diff, a carbon-fiber rear lip spoiler, two-piece brake rotors and red-painted calipers, and less intrusive top sped limiter. On the inside, the leather gets a fancy new red color with black trim and the AMG crest embossed in the headrests. Special floor mats are included too.

All I can say is…what the heck Mercedes? Give our C63 AMG all of that!
