Chrysler has been hard at work reinvigorating brand and so far, they’re doing a very good job. Though, they are far from being finished as some new reports are out surrounding some current and future models.
We start off with the information surrounding Dodge and Chrysler, where supposedly, Dodge will be axing the Durango around 2016 and will be introducing a new Avenger in 2014. Additionally, the next version of the Chrysler Town & Country minivan is said to be morphing into a crossover for the next generation.
But to make things interesting, the Dodge Journey crossover will also be around in the future as there’s word that a six-cylinder hot SRT6 version is on its way. Interesting, because that makes us wonder if there might be a bit of a model redundancy with the Town & Country supposedly going crossover as well, considering that Chrysler traditionally makes a cheaper version of the Town & Country for the lesser Dodge Ram nameplate.
Anyway, moving on…In that same report, Fiat/Chrysler’s CEO Sergio Marchionne has also apparently confirmed Alfa Romeo’s triumphant return to the North American market, once again. Trailing that bit of information is word about a new Alfa Spider that is said to go head-to-head with the next Mazda Miata.
So altogether, there are some big rumors surrounding the Chrysler brand for the time being and it will certainly interesting to see how they will play out.
