The Toyota Prius is officially the world’s third best-selling car in the first quarter of 2012… well, almost. Actually, sales of the Prius more than doubled when Toyota extended the family to a four-model lineup meaning all the sales of the Prius C, Prius V, Prius plug-in hybrid and the ‘standard’ Prius all count under the sales of the ‘Prius’ name.

With first quarter sales coming in at 247,230 the Prius lineup trails behind the Toyota Corolla at 300,800 and the Ford Focus at 277,000.

The Toyota Prius lineup also gives the brand three of the top 10 models in the United States so far in 2012.

the aqua (prius c) account for 122k+ of the 247,230 the Prius lineup (so comacts prius r a 125k+) trails behind the Toyota Corolla at 300,800 and the Ford Focus at 277,00, here the funny part the prius lineup has subcompact and compact: subcompact prius c; compact: prius, prius v, prius plug in, so how is toyota adding the prius sells together, if this is the case than ford should add fiesta and focus togther, a know people will say ford does with the f series but last time i check all f series were full size pickup, not mid size
