Following the suspension of Lotus Group CEO Dany Bahar on Friday, the owners of the company said that they have no plans to sell the sports car maker. Speculation had started following Bahar’s suspension that owner DRB-Hicom is preparing to sell the unprofitable brand.

DRB-Hicom purchased Proton, which owns Lotus, earlier this year.

“We acknowledge that Lotus can provide value to Proton,” the company said in a statement.”Lotus is an iconic brand with global presence and positioning, coupled with unsurpassed engineering expertise and a talented work force.”

The owners said that they are currently reviewing Lotus’ existing business plans and finances.
