Report: New York City’s first ever million dollar parking spot

Million Dollar NYC Parking Spot

Are you a current or soon-to-be New York City resident? Trying to find a suitable place for your nice, shiny, and expensive weekend toy? If so, then we might have the answer for you.

For the first time in the city’s history, New York will be putting up a million-dollar parking spot for sale.

Located at 66 E. 11th St. in downtown Manhattan, the parking spot demands a hefty $1 million price tag, which is the equivalent of paying $115 parking tickets everyday for 24 years.

The million dollar parking spot is part of a condo conversion project, where developer Morad Fareed, is in the process of converting an eight-story former parking garage into six luxury condominiums with 15-foot-high ceilings. But the substantial price isn’t just for space as the complex will feature special features that will improve lighting patterns and air quality to help improve its occupants’ night’s rest, as well as a showering system that also supplies vitamin C and aloe through its water source.

Still, a million dollar parking spot?

“It’s for someone who wants complete privacy,” said Prudential Douglas Elliman Vice Chairman Dolly Lenz. “You can drive in and not be seen again. It’s for the type of person who finds that attractive. It could be a celebrity or a business person who is camera shy.”

Controversial or not, private parking spaces are far and few in New York City and hefty prices are already commanded of residents across the entire spectrum. So whoever you may see pulling in and out of this one-of-a-kind parking spot in Lower Manhattan, chances are it’s someone of great prominence.
