The Volvo XC90 helped spice up its brand back when it made its debut in 2002. New reports from China now suggest that Volvo’s new owner Geely is getting ready to offer the XC90 under its new domestic brand.

A new Volvo XC90 is due for launch in 2014 and reports state that the Swedish brand has handed over the platform to its Chinese owners to share. Geely will be using the XC90 platform to develop another high-end brand for the Chinese market. The XC90 based vehicle will be the highlight of the new brand.

Geely launched its first SUV at the Beijing Motor Show known as the GX7.
