Jaguar adds XJ Supersport to Nurburgring taxi fleet

The only Nurburgring taxi we commonly hear of is the BMW M5 – well, there’s now a new taxi in town and it comes straight from Britain (with a little Indian flavor). Jaguar announced today that it is adding a long-wheelbase XJ Supersport with a Speed Pack option to the Nurburgring taxi fleet.

Power for the Jaguar XJ Supersport Nurburgring Taxi comes from a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine the makes 503-hp with a top speed of 174 mph.

“We’ve been running a successful Nurburgring driving programme from our Nordschleife engineering test centre now for some time, as it’s the very best place to demonstrate the dynamic abilities of the current Jaguar XF, XJ and XK models,” said Frank Klaas, Global Head of Communications, Jaguar Land Rover. “Of these models, we found it’s the XJ Supersport that most often surprises journalists with its speed simply because they perceive it to be a large luxury car.”
