Mercedes-Benz furniture collection to go on sale later this year

Mercedes-Benz teamed up with Italian designer furniture manufacturer Formitalia Luxury Group, resulting in the automaker’s very first furniture collection.

The collection will be branded as Mercedes-Benz Style, and includes a chaise lounge, dining room table, sofa, several chairs, a shelf unit to house an entertainment system, a bed and a chest of drawers.

“Formitalia and Mercedes-Benz stand for top quality and exquisite workmanship which embodies luxury and passion,” says Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Mercedes-Benz. “We are therefore extremely pleased to create the first Mercedes-Benz Style furniture collection together with Formitalia.”

All of the pieces in the collection have been designed taking inspiration from its traditional styling components, and will all be branded with an understated take on the Mercedes-Benz logo.

“The various pieces of furniture reflect the progressive, dynamic design idiom of our current show cars and concept vehicles, offering an exclusive, emotional experience outside our vehicles as well,” Wagener explains.

The new line will make its world premiere at the ‘Salone Internazionale del Mobile’ in Milan, Italy this week. It will be available worldwide in choice showrooms, interior design shops and furniture stores as of October 2012. Pricing information has yet to be released.
